Children

Villa Tal Hamsa is perfectly catered for families of all ages with an array of activities and childcare options readily available.

We have built a great relationship with a small number of trusted local baby-sitters who are equally available to help out during the day, or to allow the adults a night out on the town.

With a range of nationalities, ages and experience, all babysitters come highly recommended by the owners and previous guests, and allow for a truly relaxing holiday.

With a little advance warning, we are also able to assist with the sourcing of au-pairs for the duration of your stay.

Health and wellness

Zakynthos is fairly developed when it comes to child health and wellness. Supermarkets across the island are well stocked with baby-formula, nappies and basic child medicine, and sunscreen can be bought just about anywhere across the island.

There are some mosquitoes in the Summer months, but the climate does not really lend itself to mosquitoes like other European countries. Zakynthos has a number of private doctor’s offices that we can recommend (including English speaking doctors), plus some well stocked pharmacies throughout the island selling most of the basic medicine you would imagine. The General Hospital is located in Zakynthos Town but for more serious cases, a transfer to Athens would be recommended (under an hour by plane).

Throughout the Summer season, the Peligoni Club have twice weekly visits from an English speaking doctor, have defibrillators across the club and have comprehensive medical kit on-site for any watersports injuries.

In-villa entertainment

Aside from the villa’s swimming pool (with views stretching across the Ionian Sea) and the surrounding sunbeds and hammocks, there are an array of shaded dining and relaxation areas across the villa.

Table tennis can be enjoyed under the shade of one of the villa’s many olive trees, there is a treasure trove of board games such as Monopoly and Backgammon, plus a well-stocked bookshelf to suit all ages.

While there is no satellite television, the villa boasts a tv and dvd player, complete with a varied selection of movies (from Frozen to Mama Mia). Wifi is prevalent throughout the villa, although due to the villa’s elevation, it may not be as consistent as you are used to at home.

Peligoni Club

During the ‘season’, the Peligoni Club will provide the backdrop for many of your children’s daily and evening activities. Catering equally to babies (via their dedicated creche), little ones (through their partnership with Sharky & George, London’s coolest children’s entertainers) or the numerous land and water based activities on offer for teenagers, Peligoni are sure curate an enchanting programme for your little holidaymakers.

With the likes of raft making and treasure hunt activities on their vintage yacht Odyssey, these games will provide a source of inspiration for your children, and ensure the ipads are well and truly out of sight. In the day-time, children can also make use of the Club’s private tennis court and swimming pool and evening entertainment includes the popular weekly open-mic night and a children’s disco.

Recently introduced by Peligoni is a May half-term ‘revision week’ for the older children, with London based Oppidan Education hosting study sessions in the sun.
